Pharmacomechanical thrombolysis

Pharmacomechanical thrombolysis (PMT) is a treatment for blood clots that combines clot-dissolving medications with mechanical methods to break up and remove the clot. It improves blood flow, reduces clot burden, and helps prevent long-term complications like post-thrombotic syndrome. This technique is commonly used for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and involves devices that use aspiration, high-velocity jets, or ultrasound to assist in clot removal.
